Supporting Our Local Communities - Positive Energy Program

PEP.png

WorkPac's Positive Energy Program (PEP) is about proactively "giving back" to the communities in which we operate by focussing on environment, family, youth and sporting initiatives. It is a cornerstone of our corporate social responsibility program.

At its simplest level, the Positive Energy Program is established to collect allocated funds through our revenue generated from our partner clients. These funds are then managed accordingly within the region from which they have been collected and used on an annual basis through sponsorship, donation and purchasing of items requested by the local community recipients.

At a local level, our Business Centres and Service Centres create positive energy by building partnerships with local community groups and supporting charity organisations through financial donations, workplace giving and volunteer work.

WorkPac’s commitment to our company values is extraordinary.

Supporting Indigenous Communities - MaxOne

MaxOneLogo.png

As part of WorkPac's ongoing commitment to servicing the labour supply needs of our clients, we have invested in a number of innovations and opportunities that encourage and support local Indigenous employment participation.

Our approach to Indigenous participation is to partner with our clients to develop an end-to-end solution that coordinates activities and faciliates participants through key stages of training and development, through to employment and ongoing support.

We strive for sustainable activities to ensure the strength and success of our indigenous workforce. This includes:

  • Community Capacity Development and Recruitment: We work with our ‘Community Partners’ to identify the most suitable candidates to train and develop through specific pathways into the mining and construction industries.
  • Industry Training and Development: Industry standard training and development programs are provided to select participants, sourced through our ‘Training and Development Partners’ to ensure each participant meets the key entry requirements in skills and training to compete for jobs.
  • Employment and Transitioning: Indigenous participants are then recruited into jobs through WorkPac’s standard processes. During this phase, each participant is supported and managed individually to ensure we achieve a high level of retention and engagement. This phase may take between 6-24 months in duration.
  • Sustainable Employment: Indigenous employees are then exited off the previous stage when they have attained appropriate capability to operate in the labour force without the need for support and case management. The opportunity to then engage these Indigenous workers into the mentoring of new participants creates a snowball effect in sustainable growth of successful fully compliant Indigenous workers with our clients.

Respecting the Environment

GreenFleetLogo.png

WorkPac is proud to partner with Greenfleet to offset the CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions produced by our fleet of vehicles over the next 12 months.

Greenfleet is a registered environmental charity that assists and encourages organisations and individuals to avoid and reduce the creation of greenhouse gases, and then offset any remaining greenhouse gas emissions by planting biodiverse native forests.

WorkPac has joined Greenfleet to fund the planting of 1,765 trees over 12 months which will do more than just take carbon from the atmosphere. By planting a wide variety of locally native trees in permanent forests around Australia,we will help to reduce salinity and soil erosion and providing habitat for native wildlife.

Greenfleet was a recent finalist for the Biodiversity Award in the 2010 UNAA World Environment Day Awards and the Land & Biodiversity category in the 2010 Banksia Awards.
