Location and Working Conditions 

Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is an iron ore mine located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 89 kilometres west-south-west of Nullagine, in the Chichester Range.

The mine is fully owned and operated by FMG and is one of three iron ore mines the company operates in the Pilbara, the other two being Christmas Creek  (located 50 kilometres east of Cloudbreak) and Solomon. 

Jobs at the Cloudbreak mine in WA are on a FIFO basis, with most workers being flown in and out of the West Australian capital, Perth.

Fortescue have a ‘family friendly’ rostering system which works on a 8 day work roster, and 6 days at home. This allows workers to spend quality time with their family, without having to spend weeks away at a time.

Lodging is provided and rooms, most with attached ensuites, as well as a TV with all FTA channels as well as additional ones. All meals are provided for and there is a range of recreational activities available
