WorkPac Mackay sponsor Chill Factor Challenge and MND Charity Ball

​WorkPac are proud to be have been one of the sponsors of this year’s Chill Factor Challenge.  The event, held in the Mackay Magpies Sporting Club on Saturday the 9th June, raised funds to support those living with Motor Neurone Disease

WorkPac Mackay, are proud to be have been one of the sponsors of this year’s Chill Factor Challenge.

First running last year, the Chill Factor Challenge is dedicated to raising funds for MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Queensland and was started by Mackay local Kathy Carlsson following the loss of a family friend to the disease.

Motor Neurone disease is a fatal illness with no cure, and affects a person’s ability to walk, speak swallow and breathe.

To raise money for MND Queensland, volunteers were sponsored by members of the community to take a slide into a freezing pool of iced filled water at the Magpies sporting club.

The Business Centre Manager for WorkPac Mackay, Darian Lawson, was proud to contribute to the cause.

“It’s incredibly important to us as a business that we have a positive involvement in our community, and this is such a fun event and a great cause to contribute to”.

“Following the challenge, there was also the MND Charity Blue Tie Ball, which the WorkPac Mackay team was honoured to support”.

Along with Rio Tinto and the Magpies Sporting Club, WorkPac was one of the major sponsors for the Chill Factor Challenge and the MND Ball, with a $5,000 contribution towards the cause.

“Mackay has such a wonderful community of people, and we’re very fortunate to have been able to become so involved”.

“We’re on board with some great upcoming events in the area, and I can’t wait to see our involvement grow further”.
