WorkPac Mackay Proudly sponsoring Mackay Mayor’s Charity Ball 2019

​Founded by the Sunrise Rotary Club, the annual Mackay Mayor’s Charity Ball has been giving back to the community for the past 15 years.In that time, the event has been able to raise more than $500,000 for a variety of local charities.WorkPac Mackay’s Business Centre Manager, Darian Lawson, is looking forward to taking part in this year’s event.“The Mayor’s Charity Ball is a fantastic locally run event, with all funds going directly towards those in our community that need it the most”“This year is focused on helping to support children in the Mackay region who are affected by Family and Domestic Violence by raising funds to provide an extra counsellor at the local Domestic Violence Resources Service”“This is an important service that will be able to provide support to the children in our community that really need it”“This is the first year that WorkPac Mackay have had the honour of sponsoring the event, and we look forward to continuing our support in the future”The Domestic Violence Resources Service currently work with about 150 children a year but estimate that there are hundreds more in the region that need this counselling and support.WorkPac Mackay are also looking forward to sponsoring several events happening later this year.“I’m so proud to be part of such a fantastic community of people who are always putting on great local events to raise money”“We’re looking forward to continuing our sponsorship's of the Whitsunday Voices Literary Dinner, the Nude Lunch for Ovarian Cancer, and the Mackay Engineering College Try a Trade program”.The Mayor’s Charity Ball will be held on the 25th of May at the Mackay Entertainment Convention Centre.Tickets can be purchased here and are $185 with entertainment and a three course dinner and drinks on offer.To learn more about the event, check out this Facebook video with Mayor Greg Williamson and Domestic Violence Resource Service practice manager Linda-Ann Northey.

Voice Against Violence

​WorkPac has proudly partnered with the NRL Voice Against Violence initiative to assist the community to ‘stand up’, ‘speak out’ and ‘take action’ to prevent violence against women and children.A series of face to face education workshops will be delivered by NRL Ambassadors to 16-18 year olds in grassroots clubs across Australia.
