WorkPac Pty Ltd Coal Mining Agreement 2026
WorkPac Pty Ltd has been in negotiations for the replacement of the WorkPac Pty Ltd Mining (Coal) Industry Enterprise Agreement 2019 since April 2023.
WorkPac has taken on feedback from our Coal Mine Workers (CMWs), the Mining and Energy Union (MEU) and Bargaining Representatives (Reps) during negotiations. WorkPac is now in a position to present a greatly improved Agreement that will be put to a vote.
What happens next?
The vote is scheduled to commence on the 18th of May 2026. The vote will be facilitated through an independent third-party provider called CorpVote. They will contact you directly with instructions on voting closer to the date.
What are you voting on?
You will be voting on a new Proposed Agreement which, if voted up with a majority, will replace the current WorkPac Coal Mining Agreement 2019 (the current Agreement).
The new Proposed Agreement is called the WorkPac Coal Mining Agreement 2026.
In accordance with the Fair Work Act, prior to the vote WorkPac must provide eligible employees a prescribed period of time called the ‘access period’, to allow employees an opportunity to consider the proposed Enterprise Agreement.
During this access period, WorkPac must take steps to ensure that the Proposed Agreement and explanatory notes which explain the effect of the Proposed Agreement terms are provided to you.
As such, please refer below to the following important documents:
- The final version of the Proposed Agreement which you are voting on; and
- A copy of the Black Coal Mining Industry Award 2020 (the “Award”) which is incorporated into the Proposed Agreement; and
- A briefing document which explains each of the terms contained in the Proposed Agreement, compared to the current Agreement and the Award; and
- The Snapshot document which provides a summary of the important changes proposed as part of the new Enterprise Agreement which will most benefit WorkPac CMWs; and
- Information relating to the vote.
We encourage all CMWs to read the documents carefully and contact us should you require any further clarification on the documents. This include any CMWs who may require assistance with language, comprehension or any other special needs.
Please note you are also able to access a hard copy of the Proposed Agreement and any other documents attached to this website at any one of the WorkPac Business Centres throughout Australia.
WorkPac’s Employment Relations team will also be hosting online Microsoft Teams meetings for WorkPac CMWs to attend, discuss and ask any questions relating to the Proposed Agreement. For a full list of scheduled meetings and the opportunity to RSVP to a meeting of your choice, please click here.
