About the Role
WorkPac are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support Rio Tinto's Digital Track Inspection Transformation Program. Based in Perth at Central Park, with regular travel to site, youll play a key role in testing and commissioning state-of-the-art systems to ensure they meet operational, safety, and performance requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of rail innovation in collaboration with leading teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop commissioning plans for Digital Track Inspection vehicles and systems
- Support creation of verification and validation test plans
- Lead collaboration on commissioning between suppliers and stakeholders
- Perform FAT, SAT, and SIT testing activities
- Prepare clear and concise test reports and commissioning documents
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout testing
- Align closely with the project team for seamless system integration
Skills and Experience Required
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in rail vehicle commissioning or similar systems
- Background in digital track inspections (advantageous)
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- Strong team leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of project management practices
- High attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Skilled in root cause analysis and problem solving
