Working for a Leading Energy Client
About the Role:
WorkPac on behalf of our leading energy client are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with Solar Farm experience working in Hyden WA. The primary purpose of this role is to manage, oversee and monitor all construction management activities undertaken by the Principal Contractor for the King Rocks Wind Farm project. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with Major Projects Delivery Standard (MPDS) lifecycle and supporting the project manager in achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for on-site management tasks.
Review and approve/reject Principal Contractor requested site changes per MPDS standards.
Evaluate contract claims, including variations and extensions of time.
Oversee implementation of claims, variations, and corrective actions.
Maintain oversight of contractor invoices and schedule milestones and assess completion certificates.
Review and maintain awareness of Principal Contractors construction management plan.
Monitor construction progress, review construction methods and techniques to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Monitor resources to meet construction specifications and delivery timelines.
Coordinate requirements between contractors and stakeholders.
Conduct inspections and document non-conformances.
Monitor and manage Principal Contractor non-conformances.
Monitor resources to meet current and future work priorities.
Develop and maintain a 4-week look-ahead plan and monitor project activities.
Monitor project HSE performance against identified targets and identify trends or areas for improvement in project HSE performance
Have an oversight role in respect of the risk management program during construction.
Promote a safety culture and proactive safety approaches.
Involvement in any HSE incident investigation.
Monitor site progress and contractor performance.
Ensure quality standards are met and manage cross-discipline interfaces.
Direct quality inspections and quality audits
Maintain site facilities for project construction.
Oversee construction close-out activities.
Provide technical, construction, and managerial leadership for project success.
Champion project management excellence within the workforce.
Provide a leadership role in creating a safety culture where we accept that safety and wellbeing is everyones responsibility.
Ensure detailed daily site diaries are maintained by Synergy site-based roles.
Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
Key Requirements:
Tertiary or Trade Qualification in Engineering related discipline
Extensive experience in managing construction works on complex projects > $100m
Minimum of 10 years industrial/commercial construction experience with a minimum of 5 years management experience working on construction projects or similar
Detailed knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards as they apply to the construction industry
Proven experience in leading a team and managing Principal Contractors and Subcontractors
Experience in formulating and reviewing policies and procedures to identify improvement opportunities
Strong communication skills, both oral and written with a demonstrated ability to discuss a wide range of issues to people across all levels of the organisation
Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard and injury management processes
Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel
Preferred
5 years experience managing the construction of electricity storage systems, preferably large-scale wind farm projects
Strong understanding of renewable energy infrastructure
The Construction Manager must possess sound judgment and decisiveness and have excellent time-management, self-motivation and superior leadership and negotiation ability. They are required to proactively demonstrate and advocate Synergys values and maintain a safe working environment.

Technical knowledge and skills to manage large scale construction projects
General knowledge of key elements of standard construction contract commercial conditions
Strong people management skills, highly developed communication skills, ability to provide clear and frank feedback to achieve success, ability to lead through change, ability to prioritise workflow and work at a tactical level. Strong but pragmatic decision-making ability
A drive to get things done and see them through to completion
A flexible approach and the ability to influence and motivate others
Excellent interpersonal skills
