The client is a leading player in the resources industry, with a dedicated remote operation's facility located in Brisbane, which focuses on centralized planning, scheduling, and control of coal mining activities. Focused on operational excellence and sustainability, the centre optimizes productivity and enhances coordination across multiple sites, reinforcing the clients commitment to responsible and efficient resource management.
About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking a highly motivated SME as the Controller Training Coordinator on behalf of our client. Youll play a key role in overseeing training activities for a team of 200+ controllers responsible for fixed plant, load & haul, and maintenance operations across multiple mine sites in Queensland. The position ensures that learning and development needs of our controllers are addressed with current and highly effective training platforms to accelerate the provision of industry leading service to our site partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in executing the IOC Learning and Development Strategy, Training Framework, and Training Needs Analysis
- Manage and coach Specialist Line Trainers to deliver effective training across IOC operations
- Ensure the effectiveness of training is measured and reported to key stakeholders
- Drive best practices in Minestar fleet management system and/or fixed plant operations across the control floor
- Ensure training content remains relevant, current, and is audited regularly
- Build collaborative relationships with IOC Supervisors to ensure learning needs are met
- Support IOC Supervisors in developing Individual Training Plans for Controllers
- Maintain and update the IOC Training Calendar in alignment with control team schedules
Skills and Experience Required
- Ability to foster a culture of care, supporting high standards across control operations
- Proven leadership and productivity enhancement skills, with experience in best practice control operations
- Strong background in the mining industry with understanding of training systems, SHMS, WHS, and Coal Mining legislation
- Experience in fixed plant and/or load and haul control operations
- Trainer and Assessor qualifications (highly regarded)
