About the client:
Tasmea Limited is a rapidly expanding, ASX-listed group with a diverse portfolio of 26 subsidiaries operating across Australia. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing the groups tax functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting the companys growth.
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager for a role based in Adelaide. You will be responsible for managing the short/long term incentives for the group. This role is permanent part time opportunity, working a Monday to Friday roster.
Key Responsibilities Include:
As the primary lead for the tax consolidated group, your role will encompass the following core areas:
Tax Consolidation & Compliance
- Lead the end-to-end preparation and filing of the Consolidated Tax Return and all supporting workpapers, including liaising with our tax advisors to ensure lodgement.
- Manage the complexity of the tax-consolidated group, including performing Available Fraction (AF) calculations and maintaining the Franking Account to support dividend payments.
- Review and maintain tax fixed asset registers.
- Oversee subsidiary compliance, including reviewing indirect tax calculations (GST, PAYG, FBT, FTC) and providing ad hoc support to subsidiary finance teams.
Acquisition Strategy & Integration
- Provide support for Tasmeas programmatic acquisition strategy through tax due diligence and planning.
- Execute the technical integration of new acquisitions into the tax-consolidated group, including Tax Sharing Agreements (TSA), Tax Funding Agreements (TFA), and Entry Allocable Cost Amount (ACA) calculations.
- Manage all required ATO forms and notifications related to group entries and exits.
Tax Planning & Treasury Support
- Conduct monthly tax planning to identify tax risks and opportunities and ensuring the accuracy and optimisation of PAYG Instalments.
- Support the Financial Controller with forecast tax payments to facilitate group-wide cash flow and capital management, and settlement of tax-related loans.
Financial Reporting & Tax Effect Accounting
- Prepare half-yearly and annual current and deferred tax calculations for the group.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure accurate tax note disclosures in statutory reports.
Tax Governance & Advisory
- Maintain and refine the established Tax Risk Management and Governance framework to ensure ongoing Board and Management alignment to ATO "Justified Trust".
- Continuously improve and automate tax reporting processes and subsidiary templates to drive efficiency across the group.
- Research complex technical issues and liaise with advisors where necessary to satisfy tax risk management.
- Provide advisory support on corporate initiatives, including Employee Share Plans (ESOP/LTIP).
Skills and experience:
- University degree in Commerce or Accounting.
- CA, CPA or CTA qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in Corporate Tax, specifically within Big 4, Mid-Tier firms, or a complex in-house environment.
- Proven experience with tax consolidation for large groups and a deep understanding of the Australian tax landscape.
- Practical experience in M&A tax, including due diligence and the technical mechanics of joining a consolidated group, as well as post-acquisition integration.
- Strong independence, organisational skills, and the ability to operate "in the trenches".
- Commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
