About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking a skilled Cost Analyst to support Sustaining Capital Project Delivery with our client, Rio Tinto. This pivotal role ensures effective decision-making and strong financial control across the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project teams, providing valuable financial insights, identifying trends, and optimizing performance through detailed cost analysis and reporting. Key responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and tracking project-related expenses to ensure strict alignment with budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Track project costs, monitor budgets, and ensure expenditures align with forecasts
- Provide regular financial analysis and reporting to project teams and management
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Support the preparation of financial forecasts and projections
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize financial performance
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Ability to work with a portfolio of projects
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel (PrismG2)
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Experience in cost tracking, forecasting, and financial analysis
