About the Role
WorkPac is currently seeking a Data and Analysis Advisor to join Rio Tintos team in Perth. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in enhancing biological data management, processes, and technologies, with a focus on driving continuous improvement. The position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster for an initial two year duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage quality assurance and accuracy of data produced via environmental operations to ensure it is in line with legal requirements, corresponding reports and internal biological data standards.
- Follow processes and run tools that enable biological data integration and data outputs.
- Contribute to the maintenance of biological datasets, processes, guidelines and supporting documentation.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and technical specialists.
- Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Environment & Biodiversity team and demonstrating the core values of care, courage and curiosity.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Environmental degree or other relevant degree
- 2 + years experience in mining and/or environmental data, data analytics or geospatial field
- Understanding of state and federal environmental legislation, focusing on reporting requirement
- Competence in environmental management system design, administration and implementation, including data management
- Ability to design and manage visual reporting tools such as Power BI
- Knowledge and experience in ArcGIS and data management systems (e.g. FME) desired
- Project management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information into clear narrative
- Valid C Class Drivers Licence
