About the Role:
WorkPac are seeking an Electrical works practices officer to lead the development of safe and effective operational frameworks for our ground-based electricity network activities. In this role, youll apply your technical expertise and industry best practices to create and maintain work practice instructions and assurance processes that support our WHSEQ policy, Electricity Network Safety Management System, and Asset Management System.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and ability to apply the core and mandatory requirements of regulatory, Energy Networks Australia and other standards relevant to Evoenergy.
- Work effectively with key stakeholders to design, write, consult and communicate on works practices procedures for overhead network-based activities.
- Work with key stakeholders to support the development of verification assessments for works practice procedures within the scope of overhead network-based activities.
- Develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and train the workforce to implement ITPs, according to standards, instructions and other business objectives as relevant to all stages of design, asset installation, replacement, maintenance and disposal.
- Conduct audits, monitor and continually support improvements for the effectiveness of ITP implementation.
- Conduct audits and assessments to verify competency of workers.
- Effectively use systems and tools to develop assurance requirements, such as ITPs and VOCs, and monitor compliance with works practices procedures, such as: Beakon, Safety Culture (I-Auditor), WORQ, ADMS and Cityworks.
- Effectively lead and participate in investigations of incidents and engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify root causes and recommendations for improvement.
- Engage with ENA, DNSPs and other industry bodies to understand and develop best practices.
- Develop and participate in trials for new works practices that drive improved safety and productivity outcomes.
- Monitor trends and changes impacting the utility industry, particularly in the areas of electrical work practices and identify opportunities for application within the business.
- Monitor own performance and proactively to your supervisor and manager on key issues and work productivity.
- Regularly meet with key clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and identify new opportunities.
- Champion and role model Evoenergys culture principles and behaviours acting as a coach and mentor to actively support your team in demonstrating the culture principles and behaviours.
- Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Extensive experience in the development and implementation of work practice improvements such as instructions, training and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of assurance programs related to the electricity industry such as project audits, incident investigations and/or verification of competency frameworks.
- Highly developed communications skills with an ability to take technical information and convert it into clear and succinct plain English requirements.
Desirable:
- Diploma minimum in engineering, management or law higher education
- Auditor qualification
- Lead Investigator qualification
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team and working effectively with a range of field and office-based workers and contractors.
- Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating the operation and maintenance of electricity network infrastructure and associated field operations.
