Short Description

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Surface Coordinator for a long-term opportunity at BRM. This position plays a critical role in coordinating surface operations, capital works, and infrastructure activities while supporting underground mining operations in a complex and dynamic environment.

 

About Our Client

Our client is a leading underground coal mining operation committed to safe, efficient, and sustainable production. With a focus on operational excellence, they are seeking a capable and driven Surface Coordinator to support both surface and underground activities while ensuring compliance with site standards and project deliverables.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Coordinating daily surface operations and associated project activities
  • Managing and overseeing surface maintenance and capital works projects
  • Supporting underground operations through effective planning and coordination
  • Executing environmental maintenance and compliance-related work programs
  • Coordinating contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • Monitoring project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Providing technical and operational support across surface and underground functions
  • Maintaining compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational effectiveness

 

What You Will Need

  • Previous experience in mining operations, project coordination, or engineering support roles
  • Strong understanding of surface and/or underground coal mining operations
  • Experience coordinating maintenance, infrastructure, or capital projects
  • Demonstrated ability to influence operational outcomes and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Current Standard 11
  • Current Coal Board Medical
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Strong planning, communication, and organisational skills
  • Highly Regarded
  • OCE (Open Cut Examiner) qualification
  • Underground mining qualifications and competencies
  • Previous experience working within BMA systems and processes
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Experience coordinating environmental maintenance programs
  • Previous contract mining experience
