About Our Client
Our client operates Australias largest correctional facility, a state-of-the-art centre, with 1,700-bed capacity, servicing the northern part of NSW. The facility has been operating since mid-2020 and is committed to providing quality healthcare in a culturally sensitive and patient-focused environment.
What You Will Be Doing
As an EN will play a vital role in delivering primary healthcare services to inmates under the supervision of a registered nurse. Working within your scope of practice you will assist with medication administration, wound care, health monitoring and emergency response within the facility. You will also contribute to prisoner assessments, manage clinical records. Operating as part of a multidisciplinary team you will help promote rehabilitation, ensure safety and foster a respectful culture within the correctional facility.
- Supporting inmate healthcare under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Conducting clinical assessments
- Administering medications
- Performing care, BGL monitoring, and emergency response
- Managing clinical records and contributing to governance and quality improvement activities
- Liaising with RNs, internal teams, and other health professionals
- Participating in staff inductions and supervision of students where required
What You Will Need
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
- Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience
- Experience in primary health, rural health or emergency nursing is desirable
- COVID-19 Vaccination (minimum 2 doses)
- National Police Check
- NSW Corrections Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
