About the Role
WorkPac is seeking a Field Monitoring Technician to join the Pilbara Environment and Cultural Knowledge (PECK) team in Perth, with site travel to the Pilbara. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in working safely in remote areas. You will support the expansion of the Pilbara Monitoring Network, contributing to a regional understanding of environmental values.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of field monitoring equipment (e.g., cameras, light, noise, and dust monitors)
- Identify suitable monitoring sites and work with stakeholders for land access approvals
- Conduct remote fieldwork to install, maintain, and collect data from monitoring equipment
- Follow all safety and remote work protocols
- Build relationships with vendors for technical support and innovation
- Develop procedures and schedules for long-term equipment management
- Provide field support for PECK team members and assist with vehicle and safety equipment audits
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in project management, scheduling, and planning fieldwork
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical field experience, with a focus on safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders
- Experience working remotely, preferably in the Pilbara region
- Proficiency with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS
- Background in mining, environmental monitoring, or a similar field is desirable
- Valid C class drivers licence
