Our client operates a large-scale manganese mining operation, producing and exporting high-grade ore while supporting global steel supply and regional communities through safe and sustainable practices.

About the Role

WorkPac is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Field Operations Technician for a 12-month contract on behalf of our client.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic mining environment, supporting operational and environmental activities through drone operations and field-based data collection. Reporting to the site team, you will carry out autonomous field tasks, often in remote locations.

This position suits someone who is confident working independently and comfortable using technology in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct drone flights and aerial data capture across site
• Perform autonomous field work in remote and operational areas
• Support site-based monitoring, inspections, and reporting
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safety and operational procedures
• Maintain accurate records and data collection outputs

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience operating drones (with relevant licensing/qualifications )
• Ability to work independently and manage field activities autonomously
• Strong awareness of safety in operational environments
• Experience in surveying or geospatial data collection
• Background in water sampling or environmental field monitoring
• Experience driving on mine sites or working in remote mining environments
• Valid C Class Drivers Licence
