About Our Client
Weipa Town Authority manages the Weipa Aquatic and Sports Precinct, known to locals as 'the WASP'. After opening in October 2021 the precinct has been home to many sports and extracurricular activities and features;
- 3 professional-grade tennis courts with lights
- 3 squash courts
- netted indoor pitch for cricket and soccer
- fully equipped gymnasium/fitness centre
- yoga/dance studio
- creche and kiosk
- accessible bathroom and change room facilities
The WASP encompasses the existing Storm Surge Shelter and Weipa Aquatic Centre to provide a one-stop membership and centralised facility booking service for all WTA managed community venues.
What you will be Doing
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the fitness facilities within the Weipa Aquatic and Sports Precinct to ensure they operate at a high standard, this will include but not limited too;
- Planning and delivery of group fitness classes
- Overseeing fitness personnel and contractors
- Administering operational areas in line with Aus Active standards
- Ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of all fitness equipment
- Engaging in proactive planning and programming of fitness challenges
- Identifying and addressing risks within the fitness environment
- Supervision of junior members
- Assisting in various business areas as required
- Monitoring member access and compliance within the fitness area
- Staying informed about industry standards, regulations, and updates
- Contributing to annual budget and program planning
- Participating in and contributing to team meetings
What you will need
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Fitness (or willing to obtain)
- Desirable Certificate IV or Diploma in Fitness
- Valid CPR and first aid certification
- Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain a blue card
- Understanding of fitness industry
- Openness to pursuing further training opportunities
