About Our Client
Our client is a reputable engineering and maintenance provider supporting fixed plant and materials handling operations. With a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and project delivery, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their workshop team.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a 3-month workshop-based role, with the potential to transition to site work for the right candidate. This position will see you working on crushers and conveyor systems, carrying out assembly and installation tasks.
What You Will Be Doing
- Installing bearings into housings and greasing components
- Fitting bearings and housings onto shafts
- Installing and assembling crusher components
- Completing conveyor assembly including:
- Installing top guarding
- Fitting liners into discharge chutes
- Attaching scrapers
- Installing walkways and structural components
- Assisting with general workshop duties as required
- Working to drawings and specifications
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality
What You Will Need
- Trade Certificate Mechanical Fitter (essential)
- Construction Industry White Card (front and back required)
- Previous experience with crushers, conveyors, or fixed plant (highly regarded)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
