About Our Client
Our client is an Australian civil infrastructure company specializing in road profiling, asphalt paving, and road maintenance. Operating as the road services division of BildGroup, they work with governments and private developers to construct and upgrade major road networks, airport runways, and commercial pavements.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Float Driver/Operator, your duties will involve
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy plant and machinery, including rollers, pavers, skid steers, excavators, and milling machines
- Operate low-loader and float trucks in accordance with road transport legislation and company procedures
- Ensure all loads are correctly restrained and compliant with mass, dimension, and chain-of-responsibility requirements
- Assist with mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment across multiple projects
- Complete transport documentation, logbooks, pre-starts, and maintenance records accurately
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, site personnel, and project teams regarding delivery schedules and site access
- Assist asphalt crews with site setup, traffic management, and general labouring duties when plant movements are completed
Shift Structure
Days : 5am 5pm (10-12 hour shifts) ---- Monday to Friday
Nights : 5pm 5am (10-12 hour shifts) ---- Sunday to Thursday
What is Required
- Current HC or MC Drivers Licence + reliable transport
- Experience operating floats (2 years minimum)
- White construction card
- Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and away from home base to meet operational demands
- Dedication to safety evidenced by a clean driving record
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and engage with stakeholders
- Ability to pass an instant D&A prior to commencing
