About the Client
Our client is a premier provider of integrated maintenance, shutdown execution, and specialist isolation services to Tier-1 asset owners in the Australian energy sector. Following their recent corporate acquisition, our client continues to leverage their elite workforce and proprietary technology to deliver critical operational support to major oil and gas facilities.
About the Position
In this hands-on rostered role, you will be the go-to person for daily site safety, monitoring environmental hazards, and ensuring compliance across the operation. From delivering targeted safety training to managing incident reporting and near-miss investigations, you will actively collaborate with supervision to keep our teams safe every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a zero-injury workplace and lead safety compliance by example
- Oversee daily health, safety, and environmental hazards to meet statutory obligations
- Review JHAs and SWMS while coaching employees on quality Take 5s
- Conduct timely investigations into near misses and incidents to implement corrective actions
- Assist injured personnel with medical treatment and coordinate return-to-work plans
- Prepare toolbox topics and deliver safety training while maintaining accurate records
- Maintain strong rapport and communicate safety information clearly across all site levels
- Assist supervisors with sourcing necessary HS&E resources and operational training
Experience Required
- Proven experience as an HSE Specialist within the oil and gas sector
- Thorough understanding of HS&E statutory obligations and safety management systems
- Demonstrated ability to conduct incident investigations and produce professional reports
- Experience reviewing JHAs and SWMS and coaching workers on Take 5 compliance
- Strong capability in injury management and coordinating return-to-work plans
- Proven track record of developing and delivering safety training and toolbox topics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of a workforce
