About the client: 

Our client is a global leader in mining operations and operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure.

About the Position:

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to ensure the Health and Safety standards across all of the nominated projects. The Health and Safety Specialist will deliver compliance with legislative obligations and Project contractual requirements as well as the development, implementation and maintenance of the HSESC Management System to HSESC risk management, ethics, everyday respect and work health and safety.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide Health and Safety Leadership on the project and ensure the appropriate consistent implementation, management & maintenance of Health & Safety plans

To provide leadership on high residual risk activities associated with assigned Projects within the Business Unit

To provide support to the Project Health and Safety Team and Contractors through advising on HSE execution, constant interaction, mentoring, coaching and reporting with key positions

Ensure safety management plans implemented within Projects are aligned with the HSEQMS by means of site inspection and compliance auditing on behalf of the Owners Team.

Ensuring compliance with the WHS Act & regulations

Skills & Experience Required:

Health and Safety qualification or equivalent work experience in specialist safety and related discipline within the mining, civil and/or construction environment.

Section 26 or SSE competency.

Minimum C Class Drivers License

Cert IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
