About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HSEQ Advisor to support and lead safety, quality, and environmental performance across a growing Communications and Power business. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing and continually improving the Integrated Management System while actively promoting a strong, positive HSEQ culture across all levels of the organisation.

This position will suit a hands-on HSEQ professional with strong construction industry experience who can provide practical advice, coaching, and leadership both in the office and on-site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, manage, and continually improve the Integrated Management System (HSEQ).
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 45001, ISO 9001, and AS/NZS ISO 14001 standards.
  • Provide expert HSEQ advice and support to personnel at all levels of the organisation.
  • Deliver HSEQ coaching, mentoring, and inductions for all employees.
  • Develop, implement, and control HSEQ documentation at company and project levels.
  • Lead the development of SWMS, JSEAs, Risk Registers, CRAWs, and other risk assessment tools.
  • Facilitate daily prestarts, toolbox talks, and HSEQ committee meetings.
  • Promote and embed a positive safety and quality culture across all departments.
  • Conduct site inspections, internal audits, and prepare for external audits.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action close-outs.
  • Conduct subcontractor audits, assessments, and approvals.
  • Prepare and maintain HSEQ performance reports.
  • Maintain SDS registers and hazardous substances documentation.
  • Undertake additional HSEQ duties as required to support operations.

 

Essential Skills, Tickets, and Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (Construction Industry experience required).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HSEQ roles within construction or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction, power, communications, and fabrication environments.
  • Sound knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental legislation and standards.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage site and office-based teams.
  • Proactive, organised, and capable of working autonomously.
