About our Client
Rio Tintos Dampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising of 2 solar salt operations Dampier and Port Hedland is the worlds largest exporter of seaborne salt, harvesting millions of tonnes each year. DSL focuses on sustainable, premium salt production in thriving environments.
Join our dynamic team at Rio Tinto's Dampier Salt Limited (DSL) operation in Port Hedland as a Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting production and ensuring the ongoing quality of our salt products. You'll work on a residential basis, enjoying a balanced lifestyle with our 5:4:5 rosterproviding both stability and local living opportunities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct analytical testing of salt products, process streams, and raw materials following established protocols.
- Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Record and interpret analytical results with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adhere to safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of housekeeping in the laboratory.
What you will need
- Minimum 3 years experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or currently working towards this qualification (higher-level tertiary qualifications will also be considered).
- Strong commitment to safety and best laboratory practices.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously within a supportive team environment.
