About Our Client
Our client manufactures and supplies precast concrete products for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, including walls, columns, beams, floors, and stairs. The company also provides design and drafting services, leveraging a team of draftsmen, architects, and engineers to produce detailed drawings for manufacturing. Their services aim to provide high-quality, pre-fabricated concrete components that reduce construction time and labour on-site. They are looking for a Leading Hand to join their team in Yatala.
Duties
As a Leading Hand you will be required to work Monday Friday starting at 07:00AM and working 9-11 hour days, your duties will involve -
- Coordinate daily work activities for yard and production teams to meet production schedules.
- Oversee the manufacturing of precast concrete products including mould preparation, reinforcing placement, concrete pouring, vibration, curing, stripping and finishing.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process and raise issues promptly.
- Assist with troubleshooting production delays, material shortages, or equipment issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output, efficiency, and product quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in precast concrete, civil construction, or manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience in a hands-on environment.
- Strong knowledge of precast processes including mould setup, concrete placement, steel fixing, and product finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and production schedules.
- Strong understanding of WHS obligations and safe work procedures.
- High level of physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced production yard.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or willingness to obtain relevant tickets
- Forklift LF Licence (Desirable)
- Dogging/Rigging or Overhead Crane ticket (Desirable)
