Machine Operator/Loading Operator

• $34.75/hour + penalties

About Our Client

Our client is 100% Australian owned with 21 locations across the East Coast of Australia. They specialise in the manufacture and distribution of various reo products, including reinforced bar, reinforced mesh and prefab cages. One of their newest sites in Wacol is about to launch an afternoon shift, resulting in multiple opportunities for Production Operators to commence ASAP.

What you will be doing:

All candidates will commence on the day shift whilst completing training, working from 5:30am 1:36pm (Monday to Friday). Successful candidates will work in either the Machines or Loading section of the workshop and be responsible for the below duties;

• Machine Operator:
  • Regular use of the cutter and bender to proess bar and prepare customer orders
  • Regular use of the steel coil machine
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the workshop
• Loading Operator
  • Daily use of overhead crane to load and unload customer trucks and vehicles
  • Occasional use of forklift to load and unload stock
  • Assist with (above) machine operations when required
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the workshop

What you need:

• 12+ months experience in steel production or manufacturing
• Crane experience (must-have for loading operators, bonus for machine ops)
• Forklift ticket (must-have for loading operators, bonus for machine ops)
• Driver Licence + reliable transport
• Quick learners who can safely run machines
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol test & police check
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
