Casual Position Shipbuilding / Marine Industry
About Our Client
Our client is a specialist provider in marine outfitting and ship carpentry, delivering high-quality fit-out and installation works across commercial marine vessels. With a strong focus on precision, safety, and workmanship, they are seeking an experienced Lagger / Insulator to join their shipbuilding project team.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Installing fixtures and fittings on marine vessels as part of outfitting works
- Carrying out insulation and lagging tasks to specification
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and instructions
- Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards
- Assisting with general ship carpentry and outfitting duties
- Completing work in line with project timelines and requirements
- Reporting unsafe acts or conditions immediately
- Working collaboratively with leading hands and quality inspectors
What You Will Need:
- Trade qualification preferred (Shipwright, Shopfitter, Cabinet Maker, or Carpenter)
- Operation of basic power tools
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good time management and reliability
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
