What you will be Doing

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating MPU's (Mobile Processing Unit) within the drill and blast department. This role will be based across multiple sites however your base will be in Moranbah. Camp will be provided for all rostered shifts.

Access, interpret and apply compliance documentation relevant to mix explosives using

MPU's;

  • Safely and efficiently load, operate and calibrate an MPU in adherence with;

    o Legislative & licensing requirements;

    o Safety, Emergency and Security Plans (relevant to the site of operation);

    o Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Safe Work Instructions (SWI's);

    o Relevant Technical Data Sheets (TDS);

    o Approved bulk explosive loading plans; and

    o Directives by the licensed, nominated and authorised Shotfirer.

  • Complete all production documents as required, all sections and details must be recorded

    to ensure compliance.

  • Identify, address and report all potential hazards and risks;

  • Manage incompatible materials and apply segregation according to relevant legislation

    and codes of practice.

  • Manage the MPU explosive materials capacity and ensure it operates within the OEM's

    stated parameters and complies with the relevant standards and licensing requirements

    (including the configuration, accessories, attachments and all working parts of an MPU);

  • Ensure all mandatory and relevant safety equipment is fitted and ready for use on the MPU,

    support loading equipment and in the Reload Area;

  • Ensure the MPU is fundamentally stable throughout any materials loading operation and /

    or whilst driving.

  • Follow emergency procedures for accidents or incidents that result in a dangerous

    situation.

  • Ensure the MPU is calibrated for the products being loaded and delivered;

  • Ensure that all parked vehicles have suitable detectable theft devices in place, at any time

    where the MPU is unattended or not supervised;

  • Placard the MPU and attachments to clearly display the goods carried, Emergency

    Information Placards (EIP's) with all relevant emergency information;

  • Report upon and complete records legibly and accurately as required;

  • Calculate ingredient batch quantities to manufacture explosives to specification, and check

    availability of ingredients; and

  • Conduct bulk product quality tests as per the Technical Data Sheets.


What you will need

  • Training Transcripts/ LMS with proven experience operating MPUs

  • Current QESC or ability to obtain one

  • Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical

  • Drivers Licence with valid rights to work in Australia
