About the Client:
Rio Tinto Operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety, and environmental performance.
About the Role:
WorkPac is currently in search of a Project Officer to join the State Agreements and Approvals team within Rio Tinto on a 12 month Full-time contract. This role will assist with ensuring land tenure assets are managed effectively to ensure security and to enable the continued growth of Rio Tintos business within Western Australia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage tenure obligations database, monitor compliance, and prepare monthly reports
- Formulate tenement applications in compliance with statutory requirements and time constraints
- Prepare and lodge statutory documents and correspondence relating to tenure obligations
- Foster relationships with technical and support staff to ensure timely receipt of supporting documentation
- Perform general administrative duties, including document control, scanning, filing, and coordinating meetings
- Comply with HSEQ systems, chair and contribute to team and safety meetings
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience working with the Mining Act, Land Administration Act, State Agreement Act, or associated processes
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
- Administrative experience, ideally within a regulatory or compliance environment
- Proficiency in using Mineral Titles Online, WAMEX, LANDGATE, TENGRAPH, ArcGIS, or similar systems (Preferred)
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred
