About the Role
Were looking for a Parks & Gardens Assistant on behalf of our client, to help maintain and improve landscaped gardens and rehabilitation areas. Reporting to the Landscape Manager, youll work in a small, friendly team handling a variety of tasks, from plant care to irrigation maintenance. This role suits someone with a landscaping or horticultural background who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply herbicides using various spray equipment
- Perform manual landscaping tasks including weeding, pruning, and mulching
- Maintain plants, turf, and paddocks with appropriate fertilization
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance and installation
- Install and maintain turf, plants, and other landscaping features
- Operate small machinery such as bobcats, tractors, and excavators
- Maintain landscaped gardens and native rehabilitation areas
- Keep green spaces clear of debris and litter
Skills and Experience Required
- WA Drivers License (HR preferred)
- White Card, Bobcat & Excavator tickets
- Experience in landscaping or horticulture
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn spraying applications (chemical spray certificate advantageous)
- Experience operating commercial lawn mowing and landscaping equipment
- Understanding of irrigation maintenance and minor repairs
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions
