About the Client
Located in Miles, QLD, our client a global resource and technology-based company who specialises in developing, producing and marketing a diverse range of specialty minerals, mineral-based products, and advanced systems and services. The company is structured into two main segments: Consumer & Specialties, which focuses on mineral-to-market and functional additive solutions, and Engineered Solutions, which provides cutting-edge technologies for foundry, steelmaking, environmental, and infrastructure applications. Its products support industries such as paper, steel and polymers, playing a crucial role in enhancing performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
What you will be doing:
As a Plant Manager at you will be responsible for overseeing 8-10 staff as well as the safe and efficient operation of the mine and processing plant. Acting as the Site Senior Executive you will be tasked to ensure compliance with EHS, EPA, and Department of Natural Resources requirements while driving Operational Excellence initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Your role will include:
Managing daily operations, supervising mining campaigns, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring training and reporting obligations are met. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in a plant or production management role, preferably in the minerals industry, along with technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and engineering systems. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, as well as relevant licenses for machinery and fabrication, is advantageous.
What you will need:
- At least five years in a plant or production management role, preferably in the minerals industry.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and engineering systems, including experience with mining and processing operations.
- Ability to liaise with landowners, government agencies, suppliers, and customers while leading an onsite team.
- SSE accreditation
- Prior experience working with ERP systems and the ability to manage reporting requirements for EHS, KPI and training records.
