About the Client

Our Client is the largest vertically-integrated construction materials company in Australia. Our network includes prized quarry and cement infrastructure, bitumen, construction materials recycling, asphalt and concrete batching operations.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager with a strong mining or quarry background to lead operations at a limestone production site and overburden removal project.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets. You will manage multiple operational streams including drill and blast, load and haul, crushing and screening, and dispatch, while leading a large workforce and driving a high-performance culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all mining operations to achieve production and overburden targets
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, WHS, and environmental requirements
  • Oversee load and haul, drill and blast, crushing, screening, and dispatch activities
  • Drive a strong safety culture through proactive risk management and leadership
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate resources across multiple operational areas
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of employees and contractors
  • Manage workforce planning, training, and performance reviews
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships with contractors, suppliers, and regulators
  • Monitor operational performance, costs, and efficiencies to meet business objectives
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence

 

About You

  • 810+ years experience in open-cut mining operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong background in quarrying or mining operations
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage contractors in complex environments
  • Solid understanding of WHS legislation and environmental compliance
  • Strong operational and financial acumen (P&L awareness)
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • High level of organisational and leadership capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to mining software (e.g. Surpac, Propeller) desirable
