Our client is a well-established and respected manufacturer within the civil construction and building materials industry. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations at their Echuca site. The organisation promotes a positive team culture and values strong leadership in achieving production goals.

 

About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Production Manager for our client, a leading manufacturer in the civil construction sector, to oversee daily operations at their Echuca site. The successful candidate will supervise the site team to ensure safe, sustainable, and cost-effective production. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in concrete, civil construction, or building materials who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong leadership capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a site-based production team to meet safety, production, and quality targets
  • Promote and enforce safety culture, including PPE compliance and hazard awareness
  • Drive daily production schedules and coordinate resources effectively
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of output, downtime, reject/rework, and team performance
  • Communicate goals and expectations clearly across multiple work groups
  • Liaise with internal departments (QA, HR, Operations) to ensure cohesive operations
  • Supervise the maintenance and correct use of moulds, materials, and plant assets
  • Monitor product quality, ensure compliance with procedures, and raise NCRs where required
  • Identify and support suitable duties for injured workers returning to work
  • Participate in toolbox talks, workgroup meetings, and employee coaching initiatives

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the concrete, civil, or building industry
  • Strong understanding of OH&S practices with demonstrated commitment to safety leadership
  • Previous experience in prestressed, precast, or reinforced concrete production
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with internal systems and the MS Suite
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, coach, and develop teams
  • Tickets for overhead cranes, machinery operation, and First Aid qualifications (desirable)
