About the Role:
People Readiness Officer role reporting to the Supervisor of People Readiness, in Central Park. This position title was formerly known as an Onboarding Officer.
This role is full of rewarding challenges and role diversity. A truly fantastic opportunity to showcase your strong organizational, people and administrative skills in this onboarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and undertake all new starter onboarding activities as/if required check qualifications, book inductions in SAP, book induction travel and accommodation, book rostered travel, arrange PPE,
Liaise directly with new starters to Rio Tinto to ensure they receive the best welcome and onboarding experience,
Support the offshore RTIO New Starters team with employee onboarding escalations, hiring lead follow ups, etc,
Manage and assist the onboarding of bulk Intake groups [Apprentices, Graduates, Trainees, etc] with uniform orders, roster establishment, queries and escalations, etc,
Understand and undertake all aspects of contractor onboarding activities as/if required,
Assist the offshore Category 2/3 Onboarding team with queries and escalations relating to contractor onboarding, AODs, sanctions, qualifications,
Manage and process onshore onboarding activities and requirements for Category 1 Specialist contractors by liaising with site teams to perform qualification checks, book inductions and establish roster for flights and accommodation, etc,
Uniform Ordering manage queries for the online uniform orders, BOT processing and automation issues, liaise with Rio Tinto Procurement team, raise purchase requisitions as required,
Provide phone assistance and support to internal and external customers through monitoring and management of the Cisco phone queue for contractor and employee onboarding.
Key Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach with a genuine interest in assisting others and taking pride in the role,
Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-pace and demanding environment within a strict timeframe,
A professional and courteous phone manner. Experience working in a phone queue system is preferred but not essential,
Strong written and verbal communication skills,
Methodical approach with a high attention to detail,
Experience using SAP is desired but not essential human resource and purchase requisition transactions,
Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills,
Excellent MS Office skills with a good proficiency with Excel,
Effectively engaging and communicating with internal and external stakeholder groups,
Experience in logistics and mobilization function for the mining / resources sector would be highly desirable.
