About the Role
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support the delivery of Sustaining Capital projects. This role will provide cost and project controls support across both study and execution phases, ensuring accurate reporting and strong cost governance. This role plays a critical part in enabling informed decision-making through high-quality cost reporting, forecasting, and proactive risk identification.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, collate, and validate project cost and performance reporting
- Oversee contractor project controls activities to ensure compliance with Rio Tinto procedures and requirements
- Administer contingency and change management processes
- Support development and maintenance ofFinal Forecast Cost (FFC)and identify cost risks and opportunities
- Manage month-end processes including accruals and monthly reporting
- Administer PO creation and receipting processes aligned to approved budgets
- Analyse and report progress against plan to support strategic project decisions
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve and streamline project controls processes
- Ensure schedules and reports are accurate and issued on time, with potential issues escalated early
Skills and Experience Required
- Sound knowledge of project controls principles
- Experience with cost management, reporting, and forecasting
- Strong understanding of project control procedures
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with project teams
- Experience working with SAP
- Exposure to Sustaining Capital or resources / industrial project environments
