About the Role:
WorkPac is currently seeking Analyst GIS Cartography to provide essential cartographic support to Rio Tinto. This includes creating maps to aid in decision-making, supporting Tenure Wardens Court work programs, assisting legal matters, and contributing to external reports. This role is a great opportunity to work within a team of like-minded GIS professionals and be involved in supporting the growth of the business.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Creating fit for purpose cartographic products from the GIS such as maps, figures, and presentations for Tenure Wardens Court work programmes.
- Capturing and correctly storing spatial data required to support GIS map production.
- Improving the efficiency of map production.
- Liaising with customers to achieve better cartographic outcomes.
- Providing support and training to GIS users.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 5+ years experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with the Mining Act, Land Administration Act, and Wardens Court processes in Western Australia advantageous.
- Tertiary-level qualifications in Cartography, GIS or related discipline.
- Excellent mapping skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) software (e.g. FME).
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- A proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
