About the Role:
WorkPac is excited to partner with Rio Tinto in seeking a passionate and driven Operations and Development Specialist to join their team in Perth. In this role, youll be at the forefront of coordinating environmental and government approvals, playing a key part in supporting Rio Tintos world-class Iron Ore operations. Based in Perth and reporting to the Principal Operations & Development, this is your opportunity to contribute to a global leader in the mining industry while advancing your own professional journey.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Working closely with internal business and other approvals experts to develop the most optimised approvals strategy that effectively delivers approvals across an extensive portfolio of mines, rail, port, infrastructure and renewables.
- Enhancing and improving systems and processes to effectively report on approvals updates.
- Reviewing policy and reform initiatives to provide advice and inform submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to produce reports and documentation of a high standard.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A strong understanding of the Government approvals framework relevant to the resource sector
- Experience in working within approvals systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver system improvements and lead change management processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong project management and written communication skills
- Sound negotiation and influencing skills
