About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Terrestrial Fauna Specialist to join the State Agreements and Approvals team and lead a small team of biological advisors and consultants with industry research, field surveys and contribute towards the innovation in the assessment of Pilbara biological values. The successful candidate will ideally have an experience with Pilbara Terrestrial Fauna.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and review technical documents and biological datasets, focusing on Pilbara Fauna
- Collaborate with the internal approvals team, project stakeholders, and other SMEs.
- Prepare and review scopes of work, technical reports, and datasets.
- Advise internal approvals specialists on biological values.
- Enhance biological assessment methods, processes, and technologies for continuous improvement.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and technical specialists.
- Promote an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers in the Environmental Approvals team.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree in zoology, ecology, environmental science, or equivalent
- Experience in fauna, ideally in the resources sector or Pilbara region
- Strategic thinking and ability to provide technical inputs to environmental approvals
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Strong partnering and influencing skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with quick decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS
- Valid C -Class Drivers Licence
