About the Role:
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician for a role based in Brisbane. This position is offering a Monday to Friday roster for a 12-month duration.
The primary focus of this role will be to support drilling operations in Eastern Australia (predominantly NW Queensland). However, it will also involve other field activities such as mapping, sampling, and similar tasks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate camp establishment and maintenance to meet RTX standards and project requirements:
- Coordinate sample collection and dispatch under the direction of the geoscientist:
- Collect soil/stream sediment (location, manner, material to standard)
- Mark up drill core, cutting, photography, geotechnical measurements, sub sampling
- Ensure accurate records of samples, appropriate packaging with necessary instructions for analytical laboratories
- Deliver samples to standard.
- Undertake field level coordination of the project fleet so the right vehicles are provided to the right users in the right condition.
- Arrange transportation of people and equipment by undertaking driving and/or delegating driving duties and ensure the maintenance of vehicles.
- Coordinate the work of contractors in the field under direction from geoscientists, ensuring compliance, HSEC and project requirements are met at all times.
- Ensure that purchasing/receiving project requirements are met:
- Source and develop relationships with local suppliers
- Ensure equipment, food, fuel, services, and repairs needs are undertaken within project and budget requirements
- Reconcile supplier invoices. stablish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for field activities:
Skills and Experience required:
- Experience working in remote, field based environments. Experience may be gained as a generalist undertaking a wide range of field related tasks (eg. camp mobilisation, maintenance, environmental processes, safety); or gained by undertaking specialist tasks (eg. communications, security, mechanical skills) combined with other field tasks.
- Team effectiveness, with the proven ability to develop positive and productive team relationships, working closely and effectively with a wide range of people, including within cross-cultural and/or multi-language environments.
- Coordination and organisational skills to assess project needs, plan and coordinate a variety of logistics and operational support tasks, balancing sometimes competing requirements and priorities to achieve outcomes.
- 4WD and first aid certificate
- GPS
- Current HR drivers licence
- Experience with MS office suite
- Safety training
- There could be time where work may be based at our Brisbane office/warehouse (5 days on, 2 days off, 8-hour days)
