About the Position:

As a Senior Development Planner, you will:

  • Assess and manage complex development proposals, including structure plans and major applications.
  • Lead strategic projects, such as the Local Heritage Survey and Developer Contribution Plan.
  • Contribute to the Shires Integrated Growth Framework and Place Planning initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and share expertise to develop team capabilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assessing complex statutory and strategic planning applications.
  • Developing policies and strategies to drive sustainable growth.
  • Reviewing and administering developer contribution plans.
  • Participating in integrated growth and place planning initiatives.
  • Preparing professional reports and conducting stakeholder consultations.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary environments in local government planning.
  • Strong research, evaluation, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and valid drivers licence.
  • Experience in policy development, compliance, and appeals processes (highly regarded).
