About the Position
Reporting to the Team Leader Shutdowns, this role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of shutdown events, including planning, execution, and close-out. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently. The position plays a key role in driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across shutdown activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and close-out of shutdown events
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractor resources
- Develop and manage shutdown scope, schedules, and budgets
- Monitor performance against cost, schedule, and safety targets
- Chair planning and stakeholder meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and business standards
- Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies
- Deliver accurate reporting throughout shutdown lifecycle
- Manage contractor performance and site coordination
- Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience leading shutdowns in oil & gas or heavy industry
- Strong project management and coordination skills
- Ability to manage budgets, cost control, and schedules
- Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of safety and risk management practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to make decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Experience with SAP or similar maintenance systems (desirable)
- Strong leadership and team coordination capability
