About Our Client
Since 1985, our client has been dedicated to enhancing Australia's national security. Proudly serving as a cornerstone of the Royal Australian Navyâs submarine capability, they are committed to fortifying Australiaâs sovereign defence industrial base. Recently appointed by the Australian Government as the Sovereign Sustainment Partner for nuclear-powered submarines, they hold the prime contract for sustaining visiting US and UK submarines, as well as Australiaâs future nuclear-powered submarine fleet.
What You Will Be Doing
Our client is seeking Special Class Welders and Pipefitters/Boilermakers with marine experience for their Workshop, focusing on exotic materials in the Marine Industry. The role involves operational planned maintenance and defect repairs on submarines for government defence projects. Ideal candidates should hold a Trade Certificate and have experience in stainless pipe welding or exotic pipefitting and fabrication. Maritime experience is preferred. The position operates on a 9-day fortnight (Week 1: Mon-Fri, Week 2: Mon-Thurs) and requires flexibility to work across two locations: Henderson and Garden Island. Applicants should be calm and patient, as the role involves extensive permit-seeking and paperwork. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in a dynamic environment.
What You Will Need
Trade Certificate
Australian Defence Security Clearance.
A CLEAR Police Clearance (Within 3 Months or willing to obtain)
Confined Space Ticket and White Card
Covid19 Vaccinated
Able to Pass a Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
Australian Citizenship
