About Our Client
Our leading global mining and resource client is Australia's largest producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal. With over 100 years of operation within Australia, they mine metallurgical coal across seven sites within their Queensland Operation's in the Bowen Basin with local and DIDO opportunities available.
What you will be Doing
As a Shot Firer you will be working on a Project on-site, managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing.
Shotfirer tasks can include but not limited to: -
- Watching from the Dragline for Misfires
- Magazine Management
- Managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts
- Ability to following drill and blast designs
- Blast clearance management
- Quality assurance
- Technical expertise on products, loading and blast patterns
- Equipment Prestart compliance
- On bench auditing compliance
- On bench excellence compliance
- Handling explosives
- Blast site preparation
- Measuring holes, setting up perimeter fencing
- Setting up reloading areas
- Stemming of holes
- Ancillary equipment operation
- Safe driving and TMP compliance
- Liaison with Technical Services/Supervisor/Superintendent regarding planned shots.
What you will need
- Standard 11, Coal Board Medical and Drivers License
- Shot Firer Ticket
- Minimum 12months Experience in Shot Firer role
