About Our Client
Our client is a leading provider within the marine and defence industry, specialising in the construction, maintenance, and fit-out of marine vessels. With ongoing project work and a strong pipeline, they are seeking experienced Marine Outfitters / Ship Carpenters to join their team working on high-profile vessel projects.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for carrying out outfitting and ship carpentry works on marine vessels, ensuring all fixtures, fittings, and structural components are installed to specification and industry standards.
Your duties will include:
Installation of fixtures, fittings, and components across marine vessels
Carrying out ship carpentry and outfitting work to required quality standards
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Maintaining accurate daily time records and job documentation
Requesting materials and consumables as required
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with OH&S requirements
Identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions or hazards
Working closely with Leading Hands and Quality Inspectors to ensure sign-off of completed work
Following all company procedures and quality management systems
What You Will Need
Trade Qualification as a Shipwright, Carpenter, Cabinet Maker, or Shopfitter
Experience in marine outfitting, shipbuilding, or similar industries
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical plans
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
Experience using hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
