Mechanical Tradesperson
- $58.81 per hour (No Rail Experience)
- $62.40 per hour (With Rail Experience)
- Cardiff Location
- Day shifts: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
About Our Client
Our client is a leader in the rail industry, specialising in rolling stock maintenance and repairs. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and innovation, they provide an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople to excel in a dynamic and rewarding workshop environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Performing trades-based maintenance and associated repairs on rolling stock.
- Operating equipment such as testing tools, MIG and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, torque multipliers, lifting gear, and various hand tools.
- Removing and installing semi-permanent couplers, including intercar jumpers.
- Conducting component changeouts underframe, internally, and on the roof of passenger trains.
- Completing overhaul works in the Wheel & Bearing Shops, focusing on mechanical repairs.
- Ensuring all work aligns with safety and quality standards.
What You Will Need
- Trade qualification's: Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical/Electrical Trade (Fitter) or Light/Heavy Automotive qualifications.
- Rail experience preferred but comparable industry experience considered.
- Forklift license is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to teamwork.
