About the Client:
Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets, including 15 mines, four port facilities, and a 1,700km rail network in the Pilbara. They are expanding operations with cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
About the Role:
WorkPac is seeking experienced Trainer Assessors to join Rio Tinto at Hope Downs mine. You will be responsible for training and assessing frontline HME operators, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto training programs and safety standards. This role is offering an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver HME training (Excavator, Dozer, Grader, Loader) in-field, one-on-one, classroom, or group settings.
- Support operator development and report progress to the Capability Development Supervisor.
- Participate in site shift starts and team meetings.
- Ensure training is conducted in a safe environment following RTIO processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience operating in an autonomous mining environment (Komatsu) preferred.
- Strong background in coaching and upskilling HME operators.
- TAE units of competency (Facilitate Vocational Training, Assess Competence, etc.).
- Hands on experience with Excavators (3600/5600), Dozers (D10/D11), Graders (16M/24M), Loaders (WA1200, LeTourneau 2350).
- Proficiency using tablets and computers for training documentation.
- Valid C-class manual drivers license.
