The Mechanical Technician is responsible for Maintaining the Manufacturing Facilities and Services on the Kalgoorlie Explosive Reserve. Working within a small maintenance team, the primary focus of the role will be working as a hands-on Maintenance

Mechanic across preventative maintenance schedules, breakdowns & shutdowns.

Role is residential to Kalgoorlie, so therefore all interested parties must have their own accommodation as FIFO is not on offer.

What you will be doing

• Work with the maintenance resources to support the operation of the plants at the reserve;

• Work alongside the Maintenance Superintendent to develop maintenance solutions that cost effectively support long term

• plant operation;

• Ensuring work practices and environment comply with SH&E standards; and

• Working with the Production Teams in developing Continuous Improvement Initiatives, from concept through to implementation.

What you need

• Mechanical Fitter and Turner

• Maintenance experience in a chemical plant operation or related heavy industry

• Sound computer skills in MS Office, SAP

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings

• Effective analytical and problem solving skills

• Forklift Ticket; Dogger and Basic Rigger Ticket

What you will bring

• Trade qualification in Electrical & Instrumentation (essential);

• Minimum 2 yearsâ experience in a manufacturing environment;

• SAP experience (desirable);

• Strong safety focus; and

• Excellent written and communication skills.

Roster - initially will start as Monday to Friday 45 hours per week . then will alter to a 4 day week with 3 days off, with a 5 day week every 4th week.

Base Salary $130,000 + 10.5% superannuation + annual performance bonus of 5% of base (based on company & personal performance) Allowance: $24k annually

Bonus: 5% target
