About the role
WorkPac are seeking a Business Improvement Specialist, for a casual on-going contract. The role will offered on a 1 year contract on a 5/2 roster, 8 hour work day. The successful candidate will be based in Perth (Operations Centre) with occasional site travel to the Pilbara as required (not on a roster).
The Mainline Productivity Team runs complex and technical end to end projects spanning across various rail systems and assets, including the worlds first automated heavy haul trains Auto-Haul®.
The opportunity is to join a high-value, innovative and highly visible team in a front-facing role embedded within Rio Tintos Rail Operations. To be successful the candidate will need to have extensive business improvement experience, strong engagement and operational readiness skills, and a proven ability to manage through influence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in the development and deployment of business improvement method and tools, in line with the business improvement strategy/plan.
Supporting and assisting department leaders and their team to identify and deliver sustainable improvements through applying Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
Identifies opportunities for improvement projects and support/develop effective project scopes.
Leading the delivery of cost reduction/productivity improvement initiatives across multiple departments.
Facilitating stakeholder workshops and end-user engagement.
Assisting with building operational readiness plans and managing change processes
Skills & Experience
10+ years experience in a Business Improvement role, ideally within the Mining & Resources sector
Lean Six Sigma qualification (Green Belt) and supporting evidence of project delivery
Extensive experience using business improvement methodologies and processes
Demonstrated experience as a strong communicator, influencer and planner
Strong analytical capability
Demonstrated experience in operational readiness, embedding and sustaining deliveries
Rio Systems knowledge advantageous
Technical background advantageous
Full C Class Drivers Licence
Must be either an Australian Citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position
