CNC Machinist
About Our Client
Specialising in the distribution, servicing, and manufacturing of machinery attachments for Earthmoving & Construction equipment, our client is looking to add to their already growing business. They have a position available for an experienced CNC machinist to work in a permanent role on either day, afternoon, or night shift. This is a full time position with the company.
Based in Yatala (QLD), the site is fully equipped with the latest technology and offers a range of modern facilities available to all employees.
What You Will Be Doing
Working 8-10 hour days, Monday to Friday (with weekends optional) on either day, afternoon, or night shift, the successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously and also be available to commence immediately. The position is site-based, with a strong focus on CNC operations across various materials.
Core duties will include:
Interprets drawings or specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements.
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine maintaining quality and adhering to safety standards.
Programs/operates mills and lathes by entering zero, reference points, setting tool registers and offsets.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Cleans and lubricates machines as required
Machine parts/products in accordance with the production plan
Assist in reducing set up time and machining time through process improvements.
Assist in reducing set up time and machining time through process improvements.
Report all machine shop repair and maintenance records to Manager
Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as callipers, height gauges, micrometres, rulers etc.
Ensure products are produced to product specifications and SOPâs.
Ensure stock takes are accurate.
Reports times using ERP/MRP System.
Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
Attend and contribute to meetings as required; attend toolbox meetings
Other duties as requested from time to time
What Will You Need
Previous experience working in a similar role
Reliable transport and drivers licence
Positive attitude and willingness to progress within the company
