Our clients branch is of the Infrastructure Management and Delivery Division (IMD) which delivers, maintains, manages and operates transport infrastructure across Queensland.

About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking a Communications Officer for our client who will actively participate as a member of the Planning Communications Team to advise on, develop, implement and provide communications services for community engagement, stakeholder relationship management, issues management, media relations, executive correspondence and internal communications to ensure effective relationship outcomes for the North Coast Region.

What you will be doing

• To provide communications advice and support to the regional staff on communication strategies including risk assessment. Issues management and community engagement using appropriate communication tools

• Develop, implement and report on communication strategies and activities to assist the region achieve its strategic objectives

• Undertake community engagement and stakeholder consultation activities during project development and delivery

• Coordinate, research, draft and edit communication material including responses to executive correspondence, briefing notes, media statements, responses to media enquiries, speech notes, online engagement, newsletters and other project material for the Minister's office and senior management

• Coordinate and update the content of the regional eb pages to ensure relevance to projects and initiatives

• Provide training, advice and support to the regional staff and consultants to ensure consistency, enhance communication skills and improve relationships with key stakeholders and the community in the delivery of projects and initiatives as required.
