About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our leading Mining & Resource client based within Gladstone for a 6-12 month initial contract with possible extension. This role is to manage and support effective contract management. The incumbent is responsible for developing, maintaining and governing service and capital project-based contracts and procurement orders for QAL based out of Gladstone.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of contract management systems, policies, procedures and templates.

  • Ongoing contract support and governance ensuring that contractors and suppliers are adhering to the terms in which they were engaged to provide services

  • Provide contractual advice, support and governance to key stakeholders in accordance with best industry practice and company policy

  • Support, leadership and guidance for Alumina and Bauxite teams on Contract Administration, including overseeing assessment of progress claims, variations and EOT claims etc.

  • Reporting on the performance of existing contracts to all internal stakeholders.

  • Support Project Leaders & RT Sourcing team during the procurement stage of tender, evaluation & negotiation of contracts

  • Support in the setup & mobilisation of contractors, ensuring smooth, efficient mobilisation and pre-commencement of work deliverables are completed at per the contract

  • Setup of contract management for each contract, including and not limited to Variation register, EOT registers, field instruction registers etc.

  • Maintains the integrity of contracts management processes and communication to contractors

  • Identifies improvement opportunities for streamlining work process

  • Lead dispute investigations and support senior leaders in resolving matters in a timely manner

  • Maintains the relationship with contractors and other project stakeholders

  • Maintains relationships with Project Controls Specialists and Project Leaders to ensure that implications of changes are well articulate

  • Monitoring and escalating project variations and changes with leaders

  • Provide commercial support to project stakeholders

  • Conduct analysis of new laws and regulations to determine potential impact on the business

HSE Accountabilities

⢠Ensure all projects adhere to HSE directives & champion HSE in all aspects of the role.

⢠Understand and comply with all legislative and RTA HSE requirements and incorporate as required.

⢠Notify management and supervisors of potential hazards/impacts and any potential HSE improvements.

⢠Become involved in HSE activities and actively participate in HSE initiatives.

⢠Report and participate in any HSE incident investigations as required.

⢠Lead through personal example commitment to HSE

⢠Avoid needless waste of energy and materials.

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Contract Law, Construction Law, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent. (Desirable)

  • Post Graduate qualifications in business or accounting are beneficial

  • Project Management course qualifications (PMI â PMP would be beneficial)

  • SAP/ Primavera P6 experience would be beneficial
