Data Analyst - Sustaining Capital

About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Data Analyst for Sustaining Capital Portfolio Management, to inform, advise and influence capital planning for a global mining organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and performance driven individual who is keen to work in a technologically advanced, energy-efficient and cost competitive organisation.

The successful applicant will join the Sustaining Capital Portfolio team, reporting to the Engineering Principal. This role will have you using your analytical eye to evaluate Portfolio Capital Plan and performance across all Project phases, and supporting the 5 year Plan. You will gain extensive knowledge about complex operating systems and will provide value by supporting the development of planning tools and performance evaluation methods.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analysis reports in assessing operationâs performance for regular reporting and to meet specific needs.

  • Deliver high quality analysis and insight for well informed decisions and improved business performance.

  • Build business/ commercial acumen with key stakeholders in financial knowledge and improve understanding of financial implications of decision making through effective use of information system.

  • Support the operationsâ delivery of the annual capital plans and rolling forecasts.

Skills & Experience

  • Solid experience in projects at a number of phases of development from initiation, Prefeasibility, Feasibility, Implementation to Close Out.

  • Able to manage large, complex data sets with the ability to analyse and distil this information into a concise message.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in driving change and process improvement initiatives.

  • Data analytics package experience eg. Power BI, KNIME will be highly advantageous.
