Our client in a global leader in the Iron Ore industry, recognised for their innovation and industry leading development of world class infrastructure and mining assets in Pilbara, WA.

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Dewatering Design Engineer to join our client located in their Perth office with AHOC site travel for a 12 month duration. This role will be working a Monday to Friday roster, 40 hours a week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Dewatering Design Lead on electrical design progress and design issues

• Producing electrical design deliverables (Schematics, cable calculations, cable schedules, equipment lists, termination diagrams etc)

• Leading electrical design review meetings with the Site operations and Mining teams

• Be the key interface between Site Operations and our Perth based engineering team

• Actively engaging with our design team regarding electrical design improvements, recommendations

Skills and Experience

• Bore field and transfer pump station design (Pump motors, VSDs, MCC?s etc)

• Genset selection and infield integration

• A firm understanding of safety in design and applicable Australian and International Standards

• Electrical calculations, cable sizing, equipment selection and procurement

• Buried HV/LV electrical corridors including pits

• An understanding of the development of Operating and Control Philosophies / Functional Descriptions

• An understanding of the development of Commissioning plans/ITPs

• Factory acceptance testing and commissioning of Pumps/MCC/VSD?s

• Development of electrical deliverables (Single line diagrams / Termination diagrams / Scope of work)

• Risk review workshops including HAZOP/HAZID reviews

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
